About the 3rd & Goal Foundation: At the core, the 3rd & Goal Foundation supports veterans. Their Operation Home initiative is targeted towards returning veterans who face difficult situations when reintegrated into civilian life. The 3rd & Goal Foundation grants “Touchdowns” for qualified veterans that go toward building homes or remodeling living spaces for those wounded in combat or discharged with an injury. Their Operation Education funds the Warrior-Scholar Project for participants at the University of Notre Dame. For many military veterans, despite the challenging experiences they have faced while enlisted, stepping foot into an academic environment can be nonetheless intimidating because of the foundational academic skills required to be successful in college. The Warrior-Scholar Project was established as an introduction to the demands of college life by offering a free immersive academic boot camp for current and former military service members who wish to pursue or continue higher education. Their Operation Joy encompasses many ways to show gratitude and create joy in the lives of our veterans.
About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals.
Cancellation Policy: Due to the nature of our events, an accurate headcount is important. Please contact one of the event coordinators if you have RSVP’ed but are unable to attend this event.
